Q. What is indentation? What are the types of indentation in MS Word?

Indentation is the distance of paragraph from page margin. In another words, Indentation is gap between page margin and paragraph text. Indentation in MS Word can be applied from ruler or paragraph dialog box.

In MS Word there are different types of indent:

Left Indent: It defines the distance of paragraph from left margin of the page. Ctrl+M is shortcut to increase Left Indent

• Right Indent: It defines the distance of paragraph from right margin of page.
• Fist Line Indent: First line indentation sets the first line to move inside the page from left margin of the page
• Hanging Indent: Hanging indent sets the paragraph to move inside the page from left margin of the page

all lines except first line. Ctrl+T

पेजको मार्जिनदेखि अनुच्छेदसम्मको दूरीलाई indentation भनिन्छ । अर्को शब्दमा भन्दा पेजको मार्जिन र अनुच्छेदबीचमा रहेको खाली ठाउँ नै indentation हो । माइक्रोसफ्ट वर्डमा indentation का लागि ruler को प्रयोग गरिन्छ अथवा paragraph dialog box बाट गरिन्छ ।

वर्डमममा उपलब्ध indentation का प्रकारहरू यी हुन्:

• Left Indent: यो पृष्ठको बायाँ साइडबाट अनुच्छेदसम्मको दूरी हो । यो indent प्रयोग गर्नका लागि 'Ctrl+M' सर्टकट प्रयोग हुन्छ ।
• Right Indent: यो पृष्ठको दायाँ साइडबाट अनुच्छेदसम्मको दूरी हो । यो indent प्रयोग गर्नका लागि ‘Ctrl+M' सर्टकट प्रयोग हुन्छ ।
• Fist Line Indent: यसले अनुच्छेदको पहिलो लाइनलाई मात्र मार्जिनदेखि भित्र सार्ने काम गर्दछ ।
• Hanging Indent: यसले अनुच्छदेको पहिलो लाइन बाहेक अन्य लाइनलाई मात्र मार्जिनदेखि भित्र सार्ने काम गर्दछ । यसको shortcut ‘Ctrl+T’ हो ।
