What is digital computer? Explain the components of digital computer with suitable block diagram.

A digital computer is an electronic device that processes data using binary numbers (0s and 1s). It performs operations like input, processing, storage, and output with high speed and accuracy. Examples include laptops, desktops, and smartphones.

Various components of a digital computer system :

• Input Unit ⇒In order to solve any problem, computers require data and instructions. As a result, we must enter data and instructions into the computers.  
• Storage Unit⇒ Storage Data and instructions entered through the input unit are stored in the storage unit of the computer until they are processed.
• Output Unit ⇒The output unit of a computer is responsible for communicating the information and results of a calculation to the outside world.
• Control Unit ⇒All other components of the computer are controlled by the control unit. After receiving data from the user, the control unit informs the input unit where to keep it.
• Central Processing Unit ⇒ The Control Unit (CU) and Arithmetic Logic Unit (ALU) of the computer are known collectively as the Central Processing Unit (CPU).

डिजिटल कम्प्युटर एक विद्युतिय यन्त्र हो जसले बाइनरी सङ्ख्या (० र १) प्रयोग गरेर डेटा process गर्छ। यसले इनपुट, प्रशोधन, भण्डारण, र आउटपुट जस्ता कार्यहरू उच्च गति र शुद्धताका साथ सम्पन्न गर्छ। यसको उदाहरणहरूमा ल्यापटप, डेस्कटप, र स्मार्टफोन पर्दछन्।

✅ इनपुट युनिट (Input Unit) ⇒
कुनै समस्या समाधान गर्नका लागि कम्प्युटरलाई डेटा र निर्देशन आवश्यक हुन्छ। त्यसैले, यसको माध्यमबाट हामीले कम्प्युटरमा डेटा र निर्देशनहरू प्रविष्ट गर्नुपर्ने हुन्छ।

✅ भण्डारण युनिट (Storage Unit) ⇒
इनपुट युनिटमार्फत प्रविष्ट गरिएका डेटा र निर्देशनहरू कम्प्युटरको भण्डारण युनिटमा राखिन्छन् जबसम्म तिनीहरू प्रशोधन हुँदैनन्।

✅ आउटपुट युनिट (Output Unit) ⇒
कम्प्युटरको आउटपुट युनिटले गणना वा प्रशोधनपछि प्राप्त जानकारी तथा नतिजालाई बाहिरी संसारमा सम्प्रेषण गर्ने कार्य गर्छ।

✅ कन्ट्रोल युनिट (Control Unit) ⇒
कम्प्युटरका सबै अन्य घटकहरू नियन्त्रण युनिटद्वारा नियन्त्रित हुन्छन्। प्रयोगकर्ताबाट डेटा प्राप्त गरेपछि, नियन्त्रण युनिटले इनपुट युनिटलाई उक्त डेटा कहाँ राख्ने भन्ने निर्देशन दिन्छ।

✅ Central Processing Unit - CPU ⇒
कन्ट्रोल युनिट (Control Unit - CU) र  Arithmetic Logic Unit - ALU लाई संयुक्त रूपमा केन्द्रीय प्रशोधन युनिट (CPU) भनिन्छ।
